My name is Ryan Deal. I’ve always had a creative gene and an interest in how things go together, how they work, and the story behind them. My entire life I’ve marveled at antiques, old wood, and handmade craftsmanship. Heartpine Customs brings all of those things together. I began Heartpine Customs after a few people asked me to build them a custom piece of décor or furniture for their homes. I was honored to make their ideas or thoughts a reality!

Using mainly reclaimed or salvaged materials, I create one-of-a-kind pieces based on the customer’s thoughts, design styles, or interests. My history degree, horticultural background, and having grown up in South Georgia in a farming community, has given me a respect and appreciation for working with my hands. Also realizing the piece of reclaimed material I’m using has a story behind it.

Seeing hand hewn logs or saw marks from a long gone mill, give me clues as to the pieces origins. Where the tree grew, how large it was, who cut it, where were the pieces finally used once milled into useable lumber.

Every piece I build has a story. Stories of the material’s origin, Stories of the design and style of the build, and a future story of unique pieces created to be enjoyed and handed down for years to come. Let’s create something! What can I build for you?
